Trump or Storm?

At the heart of International relations is diplomacy which demands that leaders are cautious, and mindful of their speeches and utterances. On this note: Fred Riggs said there is little difference between an ambassador and a lady. In his words: when an ambassador says 'yes', he mean maybe, when he says 'maybe', he means no, and a good ambassador will never say  no. On the other hand, when a lady says no, she means maybe, when she says maybe, she means yes, and a good lady will hardly say yes. The implication of this is that diplomats are expected to be tactical in speeches, body language, and actions. President Trump is not one of those people. He is direct, unapologetic, and confrontational where the need demand. He says it the way he sees it. At his age,you would not blame him, he has seen it all, so he would rather say the truth and die than hide on the cloak of diplomacy. Another factor, possibly, that has contributed to his unapologetic stand is perhaps the fact

Regional Agitations: A Tool By The Political Elites

Since I come of age, Nigeria has not known peace, all thanks to political cum ethnic violence. I was rounding up my high school when June 12 broke out and for several years, June 12 remain a national Day of debacle in Nigeria especially in the South West. This is aside the pre-independence and early independence violence. In those days, it was Hausas versus Yorubas, such that parents are advised not to allow their wards to go to school on June 12 because anything could happen. Democracy came with Yoruba man in the saddle, the agitations ceased. Then come the introduction of Sharia by the Northern Oligarchy. It took  wisdom for President Obasanjo to allow Sharia fizzle out by itself because to all intent and purpose, Sharia was an aberration in a secular State like ours especially when it was being applied to non-indigenes. Alongside this was the evolution of Niger Delta agitations by Militants which allocation of 13 percent derivation helps to reduce its flame. The coming of Yardu

Dying Wish

Death is an inevitable end of mankind, though it is perhaps the most dreaded event in the life of any man. No matter how bad the world may look like, and hopeless a situation may seem, every man consciously and unconsciously continue to hope for a better tomorrow. So death is not an option. It is a certainty. Sincerely, we all pray and wish to live to old age, myself not exempted, but sometimes, we need to pause and reflect on the journey of life- how far we are fairing, good or bad, average or excellent? Imagine that you are given 30 minutes to write your death wish before the departure from the Mother Earth, what will it look like? Will it full of regrets or pains of opportunities squandered, resources wasted, or destinies mortgaged? If you were to be reborn today, how will you like to live your life differently? Your time and resources, how will you like to expend them? The irony of life is that we always believe there is a tomorrow to do the needful, but tomorrow never ends. I

Premium Value

Image
If you devalue yourself nobody will raise it for you. You have got to prove to the world who you are without hesitant. Just as we go to the market to buy things, in like manner, people come to buy things from us. It could be an idea. It could be our physical strength depending on the line of job we find ourselves. Sometimes, it could be our beauty. Whatever, we must never sell ourselves cheaply. In the market, you don't offer a higher price for an article or a good, rather,  you try to beat the price down in line of your budget and self-assessment of the goods, so do people try to do to us, but we must have a standard, otherwise, our lives may become garbage bins for people to drop their unsavoury opinions. While you don't need to be pompous to let people know who you are, you nonetheless need to put your best foot forward at all time by being yourself at all time. #Self-esteem #Leadership #Beyourself
