LET THE POOR BREATHE - MAKING SENSE OUT OF #8000.00 CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER (CCT) The greatest threat to human dignity is poverty, and it partly accounted for the rise of social vices in our world. According to the World Bank, about 9.2% of the world, or 719 million people, live in extreme poverty, on less than $2.15 a day. In Nigeria, a 2022 report says that an estimated population of 88.4 million people in Nigeria lived in extreme poverty. The number of men living on less than 1.90 U.S. dollars a day in the country reached around 44.7 million, while the count was at 43.7 million for women. The implications of this is that anyone who cannot afford #1700.00 either for food, water, electricity, clothes, shelter or other necessity of life falls within the category of extreme poor people in the world.
