How Much Does A Nigerian Life Worth?
Since yesterday, the social media has been agog with commentaries and vituperation arguments on the execution of three Nigerians found guilty of drug trafficking offences in Indonesia. Ordinarily, needless I need not add my own. However, international law and paraphernalia appears to be one of the area of intellectual discourses am fascinated about in recent time. Please don't ask me, why I am interetested in the subject. It is pertinent to ask why 14 people should be on a death row, but only four will be executed out of which three Nigerians were among. One, it questions our sense of morality, and criminals disposition in recent time. Secondly, it smacks of and make mockery of our diplomatic capacity. Am still wondering, if USA will allow three of its citizens to be publicly executed without ability to get some reprieve for them. The question however is should we lay the entire blame on the government or the perpetrators of the crimes, I think both are guilty at charge...
