Nigeria: A Nation Without Shame

This country is in mess, and may continue to be so for a long time except for something urgently is done. We live in a country where respect for values, morals, and sense of decency is vast becoming a taboo.

The political class appears to be laying a despicable precedence which may, in the end, erode any shade of values and morals the country currently have.

How on earth for instance, will a serving Senator make this kind of statement - "I will show you my certificates when Buhari presents his O' Level  Certificate and Kemi Adeosun presents her NYSC certificate." - Senator Ademola Adeleke Osun PDP Gubernatorial candidate to APC Osun State"?

It is the height of impunity. However, one may not blame him since certificate scandals have become a reoccurrence incidence within the Nigeria territory. One cannot easily forget for example the Salisu Buhari Toronto certificate's saga, the Fayose Polytechnic certificate's gate; the PMB WAEC result and the Mrs Kemi Adeosun NYSC issue.

It is shameful that our leaders can make a mockery of the system and get away with it. It is therefore not surprising that those coming behind are fast learning the rope at a pace not ever recorded.

Trouble is looming, and no one appears to care. The leaders don't care and neither are the followers. Even when our education was given a sense of respect, students are no longer having confidence in the system. Hence, they bribe their ways to obtain certificates at all cost, so what happens, when it is now being decimated? We could as well forget it.

Today, over 90% of Nigeria graduates are said to be unemployable, the person wey no way, na him sabi book. It is a taboo for a lady to marry with her virginity these days. Get rich no matter the source, the society will protect you seems to be the norm now.

This was not the society I was born into. In that society, there was dignity in labour,  high sense of morality, thievery was a taboo, infidelity was an aberration.... We are gradually moving into a state of no return.

Now is the time to make the needed change before it is too late. You can contribute your quota no matter how little.
God bless Nigeria!
