Barca Defeat: A Lesson for Humanity

Success is an overkill. It teaches men to believe they cannot fail, that they are the best, that it can only get better when in actual fact it can get worse, that others are not good enough.

When men succeed, there is tendency for them to attribute it to their personal prowess, to see their strategies as the best in the world, to see others as weaklings, and become mouthful and boastful.

Success creates friends, families and allies. It turns foes to well wishers, gainsayers to overnight lovers, and give men a forelone hope that all is well when in actual fact, there is fire on the mountain. A man of success is likely to take things for granted, belittle others, hold in high esteemed his tactics and strengths, forgetting the role of faith and fate.

This Barca yesterday defeat is a wake up call to me and all men alike. That we are all fallible, that invincibility only belongs to God, that it's more difficult to manage success than to manage failures, that how far we go in life depends not only on our personal prowess but on fate; that no matter the heights we have reached, no one is totally immune against defeat, that it's not over until it is over, that the race of life and indeed of success is a continuum which doesn't end until we close our eyebrows, that we are not the one to celebrate ourselves but others, that even the best scheme of mice sometimes go awry.

That success is not final, failure is not final, and indeed, nothing is final in the world of humanity. If you succeed, thank God and work hard more, if you fail, never give up, for you can turn the pendulum around - your trials may become your triumph, your test may become your testimony, and your vices, your victory points tomorrow.

In this wise, I'm more in turned with a man who failed but never give up. A man who turned his failure to fecilitation, a man who turned the hand of the clocks to favour him once more, a man who knows defeat is not denials, a man who rise from zero to hero. This is because, his stories are more sweetened and more a reflection of the way humanity is designed.

As a Barcelona fan, I'm very pained but the lesson from this defeat spoke to my heart that I should not over rate myself, that I have to be more conscious when I succeeded than when I failed. That the role to hell is packed with good intentions. That I should be more wary of men who celebrate me when I succeed  than those who stay back when I fail. That not all that glitter is gold. That not all well wishers are real.

This year Champion League Trophy is gone again, but Barca will bounce back as they always do. It's painful but we aren't giving up on our dreams and potential as the champion of the world football, for from Barcelona rules the greatest footballer of all time.

To Liverpool and their teeming supporters, I say congratulations, wishing you guys the ultimate prize.

Up Barca! Up Barcelona!! Football rules and unites the World.
