MANAGING SELF-DOUBT

MANAGING SELF-DOUBT

The greatest threat to what we can become, what we are capable of doing, or better still, what we can make out of our existence is not people's doubt about us, but our doubt about ourselves.

Whether you have had a perfect straight wins throughout life, or your paths have been roughed, there comes a time, problem will present itself as insummountable and challenges unconquerable. At such moment, two things come to mind: to  walk away (perhaps, to live and fight another day) or to stay and face the problem head-on.

I tell you, the easiest way is to walk away, to throw in the towel in pursuit of more easy tasks or way of life. Very few, and I repeat, very few people stay at such moments.

Friends, I don't know what you are passing through today as a professional or entrepreneur, never give up because the old cliche: quitter never win and winners never quit is as relevant today as it was before the birth of Christ, the Messiah.

Greatness are for champions. Stay strong. Try more. Work harder and smarter. Pray more, and believe me, the end you dream of is in sight.

Specifically, let's play with the acronym in the word: SELF-DOUBT written vertically:

S = Search your life - body, soul and spirit. The course you have set your heart to, do you believe in it? Does your team believe in it? Do you see a future in the project you have embarked upon? Where do you see your business in the years to come? What's the greatest challenges facing you and your organization? Ask probing questions, and try to find answers to them from yourself and others.

E = Evaluate the alternatives. In every situation, there are options, look for them. Sometimes, it's as if we have exhausted all alternatives, it's a lie, search more.

L = Learn from others who have been there before you. While no two situations may appear the same, the truth is whatever we face today was once a stage in someone else life yesteryear. So seek help from those ahead of you.

F = Face your fears. We all have  fears, what's your greatest fear? What are you afraid of? The fear of failure, of rejection, ridicules, uncertainty, and unknown. Name them and face them squarely.

D = Device a strategy. Strategy is another word for plan - a bridge between where you are and your desired end. Have plan one to five if necessary, and employ them one after the other.

O = Observe the metrics. The significant and insignificant changes. The little success here and there, and make sure to celebrate the appreciable difference no matter how minute they may be for yourself and for your team. Doing so will serve as further impetus to achieve more.

U = Unleash further arsenal if need be. Sharpen your sword. Engage your brain. Rededicate yourself to the course by walking the talk. Refuel and redo what you are doing well till you achieve your goal(s).

B = Believe more. Believe in your capacity. Believe in your dreams. Believe in your team. Believe in the unseen Hands that turn things around. Believe in yourself. Believe!

T = Take your time, great things take time to achieve. Patiently wait for your desired (big) break or breakthrough, and with it time, it will surely manifest.

Have a blessed week!
