THIS TOO SHALL PASS AWAY!

One and half decade ago, I had the expression 'This Too Shall Pass Away' for the first time from a friend who is now deceased. We were passing through one of the most troubling moments of our lives as undergraduates. As we reminiscence about the events in our lives, and try to console ourselves individually and collectively, these five words 'This Too Shall Pass Away' dropped from his lips; and it has a therapeutic effect on our heavy hearts; and ever since then it has done wonders in my life.

Friends, so many times I've found myself on the brink of life - a situation of 'no retreat, no surrender'; situations whereby I either press forward in pursuit of life goals, even though  the destinations ahead are terrifying or uncleared enough; and or go backward and perished with the past. At such times, I always remember this expression - this too shall pass away  and another one, tough times never last but tough people do! Let me tell you something about this last expression too. No! I will leave it till another day.

There is a way life issues try to amplify itself such that they appear insurmountable. Like Jesus Christ told his disciples, your inner man is telling you: let's go to the other sides  because at the other sides lie huge success, victory, fame and glory but somehow, it appears the whole world is conspiring against your hearty desires  and efforts. You do all you can but the mountains appears unmovable. You don't want to give up, but the more you press the button, the button remain tighten. This door, that door is slapping against your face. This is your experience, this is your reality.

I've a good news for you today - this too shall away. You may not see the end in sight but  I tell you out of conviction and experience, this too shall pass away. Yes that voice may be telling you now that this is another motivational piece, please don't listen, this too shall pass away. Whatever your fears, you will conquer, whatever your doubts, they will be clear away, whatever the mountain, they will become plain ground, whatever the turmoil, they will settle, whatever the storm, peace is coming your way, whatever the trouble, you will triumph, whatever the test, it will end in testimony. Hold on, this too will pass away.

Thank you, you are blessed.
